Come and sing in the Tabernacle with the Summit YSA Fireside Choir. The choir will present two numbers at the fireside Sunday, August 7th at 7 p.m., where Elder Don Clarke will be the speaker.

It is not too late to join the Summit choir!

The choir is under the direction of Lana Wilkinson, the experienced voice coach from Park City who directed the choir for the YSA Summit fireside last year, as well.
Choir rehearsal days will be Sundays in the ward building at 5913 So. Highland Drive, beginning July 10th until the Summit fireside. On Saturday, August 6th at 4:30 p.m. after the Summit workshops, there will be a rehearsal in the U. of U. Institute of Religion East Chapel.  A final rehearsal will be on Sunday, August 7th in the Salt Lake Tabernacle, from 4 to 6 p.m., prior to the 7 p.m. Fireside.

Please try to attend as many rehearsals as possible.

You may contact choir leaders with questions at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) . It is preferred that you sign up with Summit registration if you are interested in joining the choir so an adequate amount of music will be ready for rehearsals. However, you are also welcome to just come and try it out.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to sit under the world-famous organ, and meet new people while sharing your voices with all those who attend the fireside.

YSA Summit Choir Director

YSA Summit Choir Director

Lana Wilkinson is thrilled to be directing the talented and inspirational young single adult choir for SUMMIT again this year. She promises an educational, entertaining and testimony building experience for all who sing under her direction.

In her teenage years, Lana studied singing and mastered the piano, working as a beginning piano teacher and professional accompanist. After high school Lana attended Utah State University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music education with a choral emphasis, then continued on to do post graduate work at the University of Utah. She has been a guest clinician for both The International Children’s Choir and The Suzuki Institute.

Lana went on to work as a middle school choral teacher for 3 years, before falling back in love with private teaching. She is in her 20th year of teaching private piano and voice lessons, and is proud of the fact that many of her students have gone on to secure lead roles in professional opera and music theater productions in Europe and New York City. She is happily mentoring a few of her former students who are now voice and piano teachers themselves.

Lana’s additional accolades include her service as President of the National Association of Teachers of Singing’s Northern Utah Chapter and a member of the Salt Lake Chapter of the National Federation of Music Clubs. She is a certified Suzuki singing teacher who over the course of her career has also worked as the music/orchestra director for many high school and community theater productions.

When she’s not teaching or directing, Lana loves spending time with her beautiful daughter Alexa, and her adorable son Weston. As a happy resident of the Park City community, she enjoys serving in her ward and stake wherever she is needed.

Registration is now closed. Please just come and register at the door for events:
